How long does it take puppies to realize to go outside?

I just realized that my crate was too big and that's why my 4 month lab peed inside all the time. She doesn't pee in her crate anymore, but she still thinks it's perfectly fine to pee inside since she has been going inside for like 2 months. I thought she had UTI but ever since I put a divider in the crate she hasn't peed inside it once. So if she keeps it up by not going inside, how long should it take before she realizes that she is suppose to go outside? She CAN hold it for 2 hours, but since I've been crate training her wrong for the past 2 months, she just goes on the carpet whenever she feels like it D: I don't want to keep her in the crate for longer than 4 hours, so what do I do when she is out of her crate?
