I am looking for the name of an insect I saw?

I would describe it as a spider-insect hybrid, because it had more than six or eight legs - it appeared as though it had twelve on each side, for a total of twenty-four legs. It had two antennae, just as normal insects do. Its body was narrow and slightly oblong, and not segmented. One-and-a-half, maybe two inches in total length. Brownish in color. The legs were not the same length - they grew longer towards the back, and fanned out, so that they were not all perpendicular to the body. Gave it the appearance of being more rounded. Any idea what this creature was?
