How do i calculate the output current of a capacitive divider?

you need a 6 to 1 step down transformer, however if you rectify it to dc (as a capacitor will only put the voltage out of phases with the current on ac), you will get different outputs depending on the rectification used. i;e half wave applied to 40v will produce 28.28 v whereas full wave will produce 59.4 v, are you wanting to calculate the instantaneous current in the capacitor at dc and apply this to the size necessary to allow 8a to pass? or will the capacitors be used to produce a +&- voltage/current at dc?
