Who was the African Olympian who ran something like 10 miles to and from work everyday?

I know this question is vague... He was probably in one of the last 2 summer Olympics. I think he was from Sub-Saharan Africa. There was a segment on one of the U.S. network stations during that Olympics about him running to and from work. I believe there was some interesting back story about how he ended up running to and from work.
