What is the name of this artist?

I'm trying to track down the name of a singer. I read a review about a month ago of this artist but have forgotten her name. All I can remember is that the review was of her EP, which is her solo debut, but she is also the singer in a band. I'm pretty sure she's American, and the reviewer said she has a similar style to Adele & Duffy. Any ideas?
