How do I keep gouramis from eating algae wafers?

I have 2 dwarf gouramis and 3 otos in my tank. The gouramis regularly get good flake food and FD bloodworms. My otos have done an excellent job cleaning up the tank, but when I try to feed them some sinking algae wafers, my gouramis go after them and eventually eat them up. I don't have a divider or a breeding net, so is there any way to feed the wafers to my otos without the gouramis getting them first?
