How can i fill up my apartment in college without bringing heavy stuff?

my parents dont want me to bring this huge book case/room divider thing that i wanted and i looked at the weight and it's 150 pounds but u can break it into pieces before assembling it if u buy it used. but i moved my bed into my huge closet and now i have a huge living room that's empty. i'll get a futon and rug but idk what else to get without having to move too much out when i move out next year. i'll probably study abroad so i won't be here for 3 years or whatever.
